This unique book and DVD set will help you learn to play o variety of African and Afro-American percussion instruments. It is the only publication of its kind on the Czech market. The book contains musical notation, the author's illustrations and color photographs by Pavel Bílek.
You will be introduced to basic beats on congas, maracas, tumbao, bonga, campana, timbales, djembe, shekere, african agogo and talking drum. Each instrument has a dedicated chapter with examples and exercises for both the single player and band.
The accompanying DVD video structure mirrors the book. It is yet another aid to measure the student's progress. During the 20-minute long film, the author presents the instruments described in the book, shows drum striking techniques, playing techniques, exercises and basic rhythms.
